Questions to Find Your Life Path

Are you having a hard time trying to figure out your path in life? Do you see too many options – or none at all?

“At the center of your being

you have the answer;

you know who you are

and you know what you want.”

― Lao Tzu

Ask yourself these questions, and you will find the direction to your life path. However, remember to go with the flow and let life take you in new directions and allow for new opportunities to learn. Free yourself from the confinements of what you want from your life path, and let the universe show you the way.

These questions will let you know what you desire to give this world the most, and will help you start down the twists and turns of your life’s purpose. Stop and think about each question. Write down the basics of your answers, or the whole answers.

  1. What do you want to do in life?
  • If money was not an object, what would you do? Where would you go? Who would you help?
  1. What kind of person do I want to be?
  • Do you aspire to be like someone else, or are you happy in your own skin? What traits do you like most, and do you have them or want them?
  1. What would you give up?
  • If you had to leave you home, would you? If you had to leave your friends, would you? What would you leave behind if it meant following your life path?
  1. What do I want my future to look like?
  • Where do you want to be in 1/5/10 years? What do you want to have accomplished? Who would you like to be as a person?
  1. What makes you feel calm?
  • What brings you tranquility? Watching a sunset? Reading a book? Meditation? Think about why this activity calms you.
  1. What would you fight for?
  • What ideal would you fight tooth and nail to defend? What liberty would you risk everything for? Think about how this ideal affects you.
  1. What are you best at?
  • What do people commonly ask you to do for them? What would you say you do the best of? Do you enjoy this?
  1. What makes you feel satisfied?
  • What leaves you feeling that you need nothing else? Think about what you enjoy so much that you would enjoy doing every day.
  1. What kind of people do you like to hang out with and why?
  • Do you hang out with introspective people? Do you hang out with people who often smile? Think about why you enjoy these persons company.
  1. What truly makes you happy?
  • This one may be hard, but write down whatever first comes to mind.
  1. What makes you lose track of time?
  • Time flies when you’re having fun! What have you done that made you look at the clock and say ‘oh my!’.
  1. What are your morals?
  • What are your values in life? What is good and bad to you? Think about what good means to you and in relation to yourself.
  1. What is stopping you?
  • Whenever you try and make a decision, what is holding you back?
  1. What is on your bucket list?
  • What do you want to do before you die? Think about what would happen if you were to die tomorrow. Would you really regret not doing these things?

After completing these questions, look through the answers. You may notice a common theme in them, whether it’s helping others, empathy, traveling, introspection, etc. or yours may be all over the place! However, most may notice that the common theme is trying to make this world a better place and letting love be the sole purpose to life.

Always look inside yourself for answers; they are there waiting for you.

Love and light to you all!
