leaving the dream dimension

Have you ever had a dream where a loved one visits you? How about a dream where you visit them?

Dream interpretations are always important, especially the setting and even items that stand out to you while dreaming. I feel this is particularly the case in dreams with passed loved ones. They say death is just moving into the next room, and I know that they can enter our rooms just as we can enter theirs in dream states.

Pay attention to what stands out to you when your dreams contain your passed loved ones. Sometimes my dreams will have my sister one-on-one with me (but I can never remember what she tells me in my dreams!), sometimes she will just be sitting off to the side observing (I always acknowledge her in them, but that’s all), and often times she is simply a part of the dream, where she is not trying to tell me something but rather engaged in whichever dream I’m having as an extra. But I’ve never had one where I am the extra… until the other night.

Ever since I can remember I have always had very vivid, but never lucid, dreams. I have been having some of the same ones since I was around 5 – usually one about a theme park with rides that didn’t exist yet. My favorite reoccurring one is of me walking down a small two-sided beach. The dream theme is always different, but the setting is always the same and I’m always walking away from the water.

The other night, I went sightseeing through the universe. I was with a group of people, both men and woman, and my little sister was showing me around. I had my phone with me and kept taking pictures of the unchained beauty all around me, and mostly remember the locations where I had taken pictures: Beautiful portals that spawned waterfalls from nothing, twisting swirls of colored light in the sky, and odd gravity-defying structures that loomed over me. What was most interesting – aside from the wonders of what I was shown – was that one of the places I visited was the beach I always dream about. However, this time I was walking towards the water, away from the land. That is where I saw the waterfall portal. I stopped, took a picture of it and began to walk away when I realized (in my dream) where I was – and instantly woke up. My favorite part was how proud my sister seemed to be to show me these things – like she had bought her first home and was showing me around. I asked her the next day if she had actually taken me these places and she wrote “I took you there. I will take you again.”

Having trouble remembering your dreams? Keep a dream journal next to your bed. Write in it right away when you wake up – even if they’re just little tid-bits from your dream like ‘cloud’ or ‘purple’ keep trying! Eventually you will train your mind to remember dreams in full detail without writing them down. I like to keep mine written to look back on them and look for patterns. Try it out! Who knows what your spirit guides and subconscious are trying to tell you in your dreams?
