How to Invite Positive Energy in Your Home!

By: Missy Marston

Do you feel tired, down, anxious, watched, or just bummed when you enter your home? Do you feel bad vibes in your house? Has something brought down the energy in your house, like an argument? Well, why not bring some positivity into your home!

‘Chi’ is the energy that gives life, and it can be felt with all of our senses.

When you have low energy you feel negative, buzz-kill emotions, and you give off a ‘bad energy’ vibe. When you have lots of energy, you feel positive emotions and you give off a ‘good energy’ vibe. Ever kept away from someone because you got a ‘bad vibe’ from him or her? The same can be said of any place – “I’m getting a weird feeling about this place…” and being around negative energies can harm both your mental and physical well-being. If you do not feel comfortable and happy in your home, you need to invite chi in and follow these simple ways to have a harmonic, orderly, and welcoming energy to come home to!

  1. Smudge Your House – burn some sage, walk from room to room and waft the smoke in each room. Recite a cleansing prayer or a healing prayer (you can make your own or look one up) as you smudge. It’s great to do this before and after meditation, after a guest leaves, when you buy a new home, after major life events, after someone is sick, or whenever you feel your house needs to be cleansed of negative energy and impurities.
  2. Use Himalayan Salt Lamps – Leaving your salt lamps on will create negative ions that cleanse the air and are great for healing and health. They also get rid of static electricity, allergens in the air, and neutralize electromagnetic radiation. And besides, the soft, warming glow of the lamps work wonders on your mood!
  3. Decorate With Flowers and Plants – Having plants in your home has been proven to reduce harmful trapped gasses, and being in nature has been proven to reduce feelings of depression. Plants also naturally raise our vibrations and promote positive energy inside.
  4. Use Crystals – Using crystals like sunstone, amber, rose quartz, hematite, sodalite, kyanite, clear quartz, and black tourmaline can help keep you protected, cleanse negative energies, transmute negative energies into positive energies, and create a clear, positive space in your home. I also like to keep citrine nearby, as it promotes feelings of happiness and positive energy. Keep crystals by your front door, in heavily used rooms, and in your bedroom (or every room if you can!)
  5. Let The Breeze In! Open all of your windows and doors to let your home be naturally cleansed with the power of fresh air. Doing this even for a couple of minutes each day can have a huge impact and work wonders on everyone in the house!
  6. Play Music – Try playing solfeggio frequencies in the background as you do chores or work, especially the 528 Hz ‘love frequency’. It will help raise your vibrations as well as increase the positive energy in your home. If you don’t like listening to one tone, try classical music or jazz.
  7. Do a House Blessing – This is great to do for new homes, but should also be preformed on the house you have lived in for a while. Gather your friends or family and stand in a circle. Try to have soothing or sacred music playing to help set the tone and energy. Thank everyone for attending. Light a pink candle and pass it around as everyone in the circle says a blessing for your home. Walk to each room in your home with the candle and state a specific intention for each room (for example, this is where I sleep and have good, insightful dreams). When you are finished, place the candle in the center of your house and let it burn for at least an hour. Then, open all east facing windows and doors and allow the sunshine and breeze to enter and cleanse your home.

These practices can help you feel secure and comfortable in your home, as well as raise your vibrations and those you live with. Try to reduce the clutter in your home, as it is a reflection of your mind, and try to keep things that make you happy in constant sight as a happy reminder.

Love and light to you all!
