Five Animals That Appear in Dreams

Remembering and analyzing your dreams can help you to receive messages from your higher self about what’s going on in your life. These symbols can be anything that stands out or has to do with the main theme of your dream, like running away from something or being confronted by a huge, menacing creature. More often than not, an animal showing up in your dreams is a significant sign from your higher self. But what does it mean?

  1. Dragon

A dragon showing up in your dream signifies abundance, good luck, and protection. It also means that right now, one of your spirit animal guides is the dragon family. They will protect you from negative energies. A dragon also symbolizes your passion for your life path and your life in general.

If you are riding a dragon, it could mean you are acknowledging emotional demons, or you are embracing freedom and independence. If you are fighting a dragon, it symbolizes that you have been introspective and struggling to ascend to a higher thought process. This could also mean that you are trying to break away from an authority figure and find independence.

  1. Wolves

The message of the wolf is to trust your gut – your instinct – above anything else. Seeing a wolf hunting in your dreams could be a symbol of someone who has hurt you. Like the hunting wolf, they are merciless and ruthless. A wolf can also symbolize your own fear of something and the fear of being controlled by emotions. The closer the wolf is to you in your dream, the closer these fears and instincts are to your conscious.

If you kill a wolf in your dream, it signifies that you will overcome those who try to con you out of something. If you hear a wolf howl, or see one howl, it means that you will be victorious over those who have been speaking negatively against you. If a wolf attacks you, it symbolizes that you are suffering unnecessarily at your own hand.

  1. Dogs

Above all, dogs symbolize loyalty and companionship. Seeing a dog in your dream means that you have positive intentions and good morals, and these things will bring you great success. Seeing a dog can also mean that you have forgotten or neglected a skill that you will need in the future.

A sick dog symbolizes a dying or neglected friendship. A dying dog symbolizes the loss of a great friend, or that you have been ignoring your instincts. If you are feeding a dog in your dream, it means that you are learning or mastering a skill or talent that will help you in the long run. If you are chasing a dog in your dream, it means that you are taking someone’s loyalty and friendship for granted.

  1. Bears

Seeing a bear in your dreams means that you have undiscovered or undeveloped healing powers. If you are aware of your healing abilities, it could mean that you need to take time to also nurture yourself. The bear also indicates a struggle with negative emotions such as anger, and positive traits such as independence and strength.

If a bear is attacking you, it symbolizes that you are dealing with anger inside of yourself or with someone close to you, and you feel trapped by it. If you see a family of bears, it indicates that something is happening within your family situation, or with your parents. If you are hunting a bear, it means that you are on your right life path. If you kill the bear in your dream, it means that you are facing your problems head on and you will overcome great obstacles.

  1. Snakes

A snake in your dreams could mean that you are transitioning into a new phase – shedding your skin, and prepared for the next phase on your life path. The snake can also symbolize that someone in your life is not who they seem or untrustworthy. Snakes can also represent a kundalini awakening!

If a snake bites you in your dream, it means that you or someone close to you has said something hurtful. If you are running from a snake, it means that you are unable or unwilling to face something unpleasant. If the snake is red you should stop what you are doing and analyze it. If the snake is yellow you should proceed what you are doing with caution. If the snake is green it means that your fears are only holding you back, and you should proceed right away without them.

Just about everything present in your dreams is a sign sent by your higher self about your past, present, and future. Keep a dream journal to help remember your dreams and be sure to analyze them to keep from missing those signs and symbols! Love and light to all!
